The Porsche 911 is known for many things, like its remarkable performance on racetracks around the world and the luxury and comfort it provides with every drive out on the open road. But is there a Porsche 911 that can tackle harsher terrains like mud, snow, and rocks? One is actually on the way. Here at Tom Wood Porsche, we’re sharing the latest in Porsche news, like this update about the Porsche 911 Dakar, a luxury performance vehicle that could only come from the Porsche brand.

Porsche 911 Dakar at a Glance

The Porsche 911 Dakar is named after the world-famous rally race, the Dakar Rally, a challenging off-road event that pushes even the most capable vehicles to the absolute limit. This new model doesn’t back down from a challenge, however. While the Porsche 911 Dakar will be introduced to the market in a very limited edition of just 2,500 models, it may even pave the way for a new branch of the Porsche 911 family, depending on the response to its release.

Porsche 911 Dakar Off-Road Features

So what makes the Porsche 911 Dakar live up to its name? To start, you’ll have impressive ground clearance for a performance vehicle. It has a 2.0-inch suspension lift over the standard model and a hydraulic lift system that offers another 1.2 inches of lift on demand.

From a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, you’ll have 473 horsepower, and raw power is perfectly balanced and distributed thanks to a fixed rear spoiler. Other off-road features and designs include flared wheel arches and all-terrain tires.

The Porsche 911 is known for winning races and standing out from the pack, and now it’s ready to conquer off-road adventures. Learn more about this new model and other upcoming Porsche vehicles when you visit Tom Wood Porsche, the Porsche dealership you can trust.
